August Stage Camp by STC Centre for Creative Learning

Bring to life a classic fairy tale! Through frolics and fun the young actors will weave their own tale, using inspiration from the story of the Three Little Pigs! To spark their creativity the students will visit STC’s theatre to watch a professional musical production - This ‘very curly musical tail’ is packed with humour and will have the young actors squealing with glee and howling with laughter as the three little pigs take on the Big Bad Wolf. The rest of the week will be spent exploring improvisation and devising techniques to construct their own little performance to be shared with an invited audience at the end of the week!
Stage Camp by STC Centre for Creative Learning is a devising-based programme that takes on a child-centred, process-first approach leading up to an informal stage showcase on the final day.

Together with an experienced teaching artist, your young actor(s) will…

  • Devise a showcase on the given theme

  • Explore drama skills such as storytelling, movement, and self-expression

  • Develop their listening and communication skills

  • Grow in confidence and stretch their imagination

  • Work together to develop key socioemotional skills such as: expression and building relationships
